STORE TWENTY ONE, originally evolved from a manufacturing business established in London in 1932, supplying clothing to West End and Marks & Spencer stores. Continued growth led to the acquisition of factories in Scotland and Southern England.

In the 1960's, factory outlet shops were opened to sell merchandise that did not meet the stringent quality controls laid down by Marks and Spencer. The success of these stores, trading under a different brand name, led to the opening of a number of High Street outlets during the 1970's when "perfect" merchandise was also added to the ranges.

The continued success of the retail operation led to the sale of the manufacturing business in 1984. The retailing of seconds ceased and the stores were re-branded as QS in 1987.The business continued to flourish and in March 1990 with 65 stores, the Company floated the London Stock Exchange. Expansion continued during the 90's throughout Southern England and the Midlands.

In the financial year 2000/2001, the business made two acquisitions adding over 50 new stores to its portfolio and extending its geographical presence into South Wales and the North of England.

In November 2002 Hamsard 2353 Ltd, representing a group of private investors, purchased the entire share capital making the group a private company.

In 2007, the company was bought by Grabal Alok and the following two years saw significant restructuring of the business and the evolution of the business in to STORE TWENTY ONE. A clothing and homeware retailer with over 200 stores offering value, fashion and style for women, girls, boys, babies, men and lifestyle products at affordable prices.

Grabal Alok a subsidiary of one of the largest textile manufacturers in India - Alok Industries Ltd. Grabal Alok manufactures all kinds of embroidered products having wide application in home textiles, apparel fabrics and garments. Their customers include merchant importers from Africa and the Middle-East, domestic traders and garment manufacturers, international label brands and international home textile retailers. Headquartered in Mumbai, India, with manufacturing facilities located at numerous locations, Grabal Alok produces 9.2 billion stitches

With over 200 stores in the UK acquiring 850,000 square feet of sales area , the team at Store Twenty One is made up of all kinds of diverse people from all kinds of backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common, being able to look through our customers eyes.

Development of the Store Twenty One brand, including a refurbishment programme of our existing stores which is currently underway, and an aggressive new store opening plan has recently seen 5 fabulous new stores open with a view to open a further 26 by the end of 2010.The Store Twenty One brand was nominated for Retail Interiors Award in 2008.
